I used to make a lot of use of open strings as drones while I played riffs on the others. Here's such an one. Inspired by the films of Jean Luc Godard though I can't remember why.
Greg and Ian had removed the frets from a no name guitar. That's what's playing the solo.
lyrics
13TH CHILDHOOD
Swimming through my 13th childhood
Headaches come and go like you should
If there was a chance I could fall into another sleep
One important day I'll make my mind up
One cool day I'll make my mind up
See if you can look the other way
See if you can keep yourself away
From a day
Sulphuric dreams in my 13th childhood
Faces burn like napalm on wood
I don't talk talk costs too much, so expensive
One important day I'll make my mind up
One cool day I'll make my mind up
See if you can look the other way
See if you can keep yourself away
From a day

Burbling beneath the hazy beauty of the debut solo record from Lush co-founder Emma Anderson is razor-sharp wit and a heart full of rage. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 5, 2023
The debut solo LP from Ride's Andy Bell is charming, fuzzed-out psych-pop with the shoegaze pioneer's signature sense of dynamic layering. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 18, 2020
