Sweet and boppy music with a story of violence, death and resurrection. One of the most misguided lyrics I've ever written. This possibly had to do with a contemporary criminal case from the Gold Coast but I can't remember.

I do remember that the title came from a photo in Townsville's free paper the Advertiser. It was of a girl I'd had a crush on a few years before and the title was "Debbie a Beach Girl." I saw this picture with affection not resentment or regret, cut it out and only saw it again recently when I threw it out as part of a spring clean. Maybe I just liked the sound of the caption. I can't think why I would have associated the content of these lyrics with that person.
