About a killer's final moments and thoughts before doing himself in. Part II came out of noodling on the guitar figure of part I and thinking it was too close to make a new song from so It became this. It was played live at least once but maybe more than that. I could never remember the words.
Also, I never like the recording of Part I that we put on the Cosmic St album. Mainly, this was due to my turning the reverb on the guitar amp up too high, making it impossible to mix properly. As soon as the guitar track was cranked it started taking over the whole mix with big sloppy clanging. So it was buried and the song lost its shiny bit. That didn't swear me off reverb but it did teach me about being careful with it to the extent that when I used it afterwards it was more intentional.
PS - Authenticity note: I sang Part II from the original foolscap exercise pad page which had been scrawled in my barely legible longhand.
