An attempt to mix Indian-ish guitar playing with baroque keyboards. We spent a lot of time getting the Juno 6 to sound like a harpsichord. Most people thought it was a banjo.
I used to imagine what it was like to be insane. This is one of those imaginings.
lyrics
ROOM ON THE EDGE
In a room on the edge, second floor,
I stare at the ceiling and listen for the door
They're playing outside, cooking up fun
Chasing goblins on the run
Watch the bed grow twice its size
A starving roach looks for a prize
Come inside, come inside
It's like walking through the rubble of Hiroshima
In a room on the edge my vision's blurred
Tell me a wish I've never heard
In a room on the edge, through paper walls,
I hear them laughing in the hall
Watch the bed grow twice its size
A starving roach looks for a prize
Come inside, come inside
It's like walking through the rubble of Hiroshima
In a room on the edge...
In a room on the edge there's broken glass
And all the curtains are made of brass
Watch the bed grow twice its size
A starving roach looks for a prize
Come inside, come inside
It's like walking through the rubble of Hiroshima
In my room on the edge.

Burbling beneath the hazy beauty of the debut solo record from Lush co-founder Emma Anderson is razor-sharp wit and a heart full of rage. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 5, 2023
The debut solo LP from Ride's Andy Bell is charming, fuzzed-out psych-pop with the shoegaze pioneer's signature sense of dynamic layering. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 18, 2020
