I started by writing something about the unoriginality of them durn kids today but remembered that the band with this name prided itself in the 80s on how 60s it was. So this.
The title not only refers to my ahem maturity but also to what we used to call Year 12. I was in Grade 12 in 1979 which makes me a senior now and then.
lyrics
SENIOR
Jenny, Jenny, give me everything.
No one's looking. Let's see what's in this room
You can show me the right words to sing.
So my song can be shining in the gloom.
That's how it worked in '79.
You took the powder from the compact.
You clicked it shut like a line from Elvis C.
We sat there waiting for the impact.
but it felt like it was real.
That's how it worked in '79.
Play today. What will those babys say?
Ourorbourus. Sucking just like us.
You strap it on like a buzzsaw.
You chug it out like an automatic spin
Gleams like nuggets but it's good to do the sin.
That's how it worked in '79.
Play today. What will those babys say?
Ourorbourus. Sucking just like us
