At 18 I believed all marriages were pits of hatred or at best life long truces. All I had to go on to this conclusion was the violent tempered union of my brother and his wife but I extended it to all young marriage. My parents proved to be life partners and if not exactly loving were tolerant and respectful of each other. So is this sour grapes? Well, I could only imagine the grapes in the first place ....
Originally done as part of the big record-off in the terrible winter of '82 but poorly. I wasn't even going to include it here because I remembered it as a arpeggiated chord jangle-fest. As soon as I put the piano first and only garnished it with a distant sound Strat did the song's appeal push itself forward. So here it is....
