More militarism in the lyrics here but this time it's in response to seeing the behaviour of the cops at protests and gigs when I got to Brisbane. I'd never known such heaviness. The impact doubled when I understood that no matter how threateningly chaotic the punters seemed to little milquey middle class me they were nothing on the thuggery of the cops at the time. Here I'm imagining the repression of a youth revolt or something that you'd think up at eighteen or so after witnessing one disturbing thing. The unintentional humour of it probably prevented me from offering it to the Pits or doing it with the Gatekeepers. Still like the music though and it was largely intact so here it is.
I think I was going for Devo on this one, that kind of 60's chorus with a clean punk kinda jangle like Gates of Steel or Uncontrollable Urge. I put a big distorted Les Paul in there but it just detracted from the overall sound so it's gone. 'Sides the electric 12 makes a compelling rhythm geetar.
